I, Darshan Singh, S/o S. Jeewan Singh, age 47 yrs., R/o RZ-249, Gali No.7, Sadh Nagar, Palam Colony, New Delhi-45, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:- 

1.                  That on 1^st November, `84, I was residing at my earlier house bearing No. WZ-314, Sadh Nagar, Gali No.8, Palam Colony, New Delhi-45.  During this period after the assassination of Smt. Indira Gandhi riots were erupted against the Sikh community.  The mobs were shouting slogans “Indira Gandhi Amar Rahe, Khoon Ka Badla Khoon Se Lenge.”

2.                  That when I was hiding myself along with my family members in my own house, a mob insist of 200-300 persons was coming towards our house.  I saw this from my main entrance door.  Somehow or  other I along with my other members of my family escaped from my own house and took shelter in one of my neighbor’s house namely Sh. Arjun Das and managed to save our lives. 

3.                  That on 2^nd November, `84, we went to Sadar Bazaar, Delhi Cantt Gurdwara in a Military vehicle where a camp was established.  We remained there upto 30<sup>th</sup> November, `84. 

4.                  That on 30^th November, `84, we returned home in the evening and found that our entire house was looted and the articles / goods which could not be removed by them, the same were burnt. 

5.                  That I had suffered a loss to the tune of about 80,000/-, in cash, jewelry and household articles. 

6.                  That I had not received a single penny as compensation from the Govt. 

7.                  That I request compensation towards my losses suffered by me during November, `84, may kindly be ordered.
