I, Jaipal Singh Saini, S/o Sh. Munshi Ram Saini,  age about 58 yrs., R/o RZ- 862, Gali No. 16 A, Sadh Nagar, Palam Colony, New Delhi-110045, do hereby solemnly declare as under:-

1.                  That on 1^st November, `84, at about 2:30 P.M., a mob consisting of about 400 persons came to our house and attacked the same.  They broke open the main entrance of my house with the help of iron rods.  They looted the entire household articles.  At that time I along with family members were sitting on the roof of above said house.

2.                  That the said mob came to the roof of our house.  They caught hold of me and threw me down the street from the roof of my house.  My wife Smt. Paramjeet Kaur Saini immediately came down into the street.  I was beaten by the mob mercilessly and my wife was also beaten mercilessly.  I became unconscious,  My wife was given severe beating and hit  her on the   head with handle of the hand pump.  Consequently she became unconscious.  Subsequently we were removed to hospital.  I am still under treatment and my wife is unable to see from her right eye due to the said head injury inflicted by the mob.

3.                  That we came to know subsequently that my house was looted and burnt by the said mob.  I suffered losses to the tune of Rs.7.5 lakhs in respect of my household articles and my house.

4.                  That I have not received any compensation in respect of loss suffered by me in respect of my household goods and my house, though we had been given  a sum of Rs.2,000/- each in respect of our injuries.  I and my wife have suffered permanent injuries due to the severe beating in November, 1984 riots.

5.                  That I humbly prayed that I may be given compensation in respect of losses suffered by me in the above said riots.
