I, N/Sub Mohan Singh (Retd.), S/o Late S. Mangat Singh, age 76 yrs., residing at WZ/495, Gali No. 16, Sadh Nagar, Palam Colony, New Delhi-110045, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:- 

1.                  That I and my family are residing at WZ/495, Gali No. 16, Sadh Nagar, Palam Colony, New Delhi-110045, since 1962, and are still residing there.

2.                  That on 1^st November. `84, at about 9 A.M. a large crowd attacked the Gurdwara – located about ½ Km. away.  A Sikh cyclist, S.K.D. Singh, who had been attacked by the mob, some how pedaled away and came to inform me of the attack, on the Gurdwara- since I was also Gurdwara Pardhan.

3.                  That when I tried to go to Gurdwara Sahib, my neighbors stopped me from proceeding towards the Gurdwara as my life would be in danger.

4.                  That thereafter we kept on hiding in our house.

5.                  That at about 10:30 A.M. the crowd attacked our house.  I and my family jumped on the boundary wall and hid ourselves in the adjoining plot.  Where a Hindu was residing.

6.                  That the crowd looted our house and set it on fire.  While I could see all this happening from the room where I had taken shelter.

7.                  That at about 2 P.M. an Air Force personnel CPL Sandhu, who was our neighbor, had come with Air Force vehicle to evacuate his  family.  He took pity on us and evacuated me and my two sons to Air Force Gurdwara in Air Force 3 Wing, Palam, but my wife and daughter stayed in the neighbor’s (Shri Gridhari Lal) house. 

8.                  That we stayed that night of 1^st November, `84, in that Gurdwara and then were transported to Delhi Cantt Gurdwara on 2<sup>nd</sup> November, `84.  Later, on 4^th November, `84, my wife and  daughter also  joined  me at Sadar Bazar, Delhi Cantt Gurdwara.  We stayed in the Sadar Bazaar, Delhi Cantt Gurdwara till 31 Dec. 1984.

9.                  That my house was completely destroyed and in the absence of  my relief or compensation given to me. I was forced to stay in a small rented room for next 9 years.

10.              That I filed a FIR  with SHO, Sadar Bazar, Delhi Cantt on 10^th November, `84. (copy attached)

11.              That I suffered a loss of Rs.8 lakhs, where the entire household and dowry items for my daughter were completely looted.

12.              That I received a paltry compensation of Rs.5,000/- so far. 

I pray that compensation for the huge loss suffered by me be kindly ordered.
