True English Translation of the Original

            I, Kalia, aged 20 years s/o Shri Ladha Singh, r/o C-88, DDA Flats, Slum Tenements, Garhi, New Delhi, do hereby on solemn affirmation state and declare as under: -

1.                  Earlier we were staying in Jhuggi No.350, Block-B-1, Sultanpuri, Delhi. My parents and my brother were also residing with us.

2.                  On 1-11-84, about 12 Noon, all the Non-Sikhs residents of our street came to kill us. They were headed by Manoj, Raj, Sita Ram, Wazir, Pradhan of Jhuggi, who were residing in the near street.

3.                  My brother Hoshiar Singh came out of the Jhuggi and he was attacked by them. He was beaten so much that he fell down and they took him to be dead and left him. Subsequently he recovered but he suffered multiple fractures.

4.                  Then my father Sh. Ladha Singh came out of the Jhuggi but he was also attacked by these residents and was beaten with lathis, and then he was put on the handcart by the persons named above, and they put petrol on him and burnt him to death.

5.                  The house property was looted by them and the Jhuggi was burnt. The police did not save us. The residents of our gali were openly shouting that all the Sikhs should be killed.

6.                  We were having property of about Rs.5,000/- which was looted by them. Both the Cycle-rickshaw belonging to us were also burnt by them.

7.                  The police refused to record my report because I was naming particularly the murderers and the looters.

8.                  I pray that the action should be taken against the culprits and compensation be give to me.
