I, Birmi Bai Wd/o Khandu Singh, aged about 30 yrs., r/o 13/1, Kalyanpuri, Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and state as under: - 

1.                  That I am residing at the aforesaid addresses since 1976.

2.                  That on November 1, 1984, at noon a strong mob of more than 2000 persons all armed with lathis, iron rods, spears etc. came into my street. The following persons whom I know personally were leading the mob. They are: -

1)     Dr. Ashok, an acting Congress (I) worker of the area, r/o Kalyanpuri.

2)     Tara, leader of Kanjar’s and another Congress (I) worker of the area, r/o Kalyanpuri.

3)     Jai Narayan, r/o Kalyanpuri.

4)     Dharampal, r/o Kalyanpuri.

The SHO of the area Mr. Tyagi was also with the mob. Instead of stopping the unlawful assembly, he was instigating them to kill all Sikhs. I do not know the names of other persons but can recognize them if produced before me.

3.                  That these people surrounded my house from all sides and stoned it heavily. My husband Kandu Singh was dragged out of the house and he was mecilessly beaten to death. Dharampal and Jai Narayan were among those who hit my husband. After beating him to death his body was thrown into the nallah nearby. I saw this whole incident before my eyes.
