I, S. Kartar Singh S/o S. Gareeb Singh aged about 65 yrs., R/o H.No.11/84, Kalyanpuri, New Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:- 

1.                  That in Oct./Nov.`84, I and my family were residing at the above address.  I am an iron reinforcement worker.  I had returned after completing an assignment of 3 years in Kuwait and Iraq in September`84, I had brought lots of foreign goods for my household and marriages of my daughters.

2.                  That on 31^st Oct.`84, I and my  family stayed in our house.

3.                  That in the evening of 1^st Nov.`84, when a very large mob assembled in our Colony, all sikh families assembled in the Gurdwara located in the park.  Our houses were locked but left unattended.

4.                  That we defended the Gurdwara on 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Nov.`84, and kept the violent mob away.

5.                  That when I returned to my house on 4^th Nov.`84, I found it completely looted, the woodwork in doors, window frames had been ripped and taken away.  I suffered a loss of Rs.90,000/- which is recorded in the FIR.

6.                  That I lodged an FIR  in Kalyanpuri Police Station on 11-11-84 (copy attached).

7.                  That I received a sum of Rs.1,000/- only.
