I, Giani Baldev Singh S/o S. Ranjod Singh, aged about 45 yrs., R/o Gurdwara C-Block, Gali No.19, Bhajanpura, Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under: - 

1.                  That I was residing at B-Block Gurdwara, Bhajanpura, Delhi and was working there as Granthi.

2.                  That on 31-10-84, no incident took place in our block.

3.                  That on 1-11-84, at about 11 – 12 PM, a mob of about 20 – 25 persons started pelting stones on the Gurdwara. I immediately raised an alarm that the mob has attacked the Gurdwara. On hearing this alarm, about 20 – 25 Sikhs gathered in the Gurdwara. We armed ourselves with lathis and kirpans and saved the Gurdwara and our Block from the mob. No police assistance was provided to our block on 1-11-84.

4.                  That on 2-11-84, at about 5:00 PM, a mob of about 100 – 150 armed persons again attacked the Gurdwara. But, when about 20 – 30 Sikhs came out of the Gurdwara with lathis and kirpans, the mob ran away and stood at some distance from the Gurdwara / Block. After an hour police came to the Gurdwara and insisted upon us that we should go back to our houses and that they (the policemen) will guard the Gurdwara and our Block. But we refused to go back to our houses and stayed outside the Gurdwara. On seeing us the mob did not dare to come near the Gurdwara and our colony and thus we were able to save the Gurdwara and our colony from the attack by the mob.

5.        That on 3-11-84, we went to Nanaksar Gurdwara Camp and stayed there for a week.
