BEFORE JUSTICE NANAVATI COMMISSION OF INQUIRY ( Witness No : 121 ) Name : Shri Bachittar Singh On SA I had filed two affidavits before Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission of Inquiry. The photocopies which are in Hindi are shown to me and bears my signature. I say that the contents thereon are correct. I have nothing more to add. Cross examination by Shri S.S. Gandhi, Senior Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police : I had prepared the affidavits myself and got it typed through a typist. I have been staying in Prakash Mohalla since 1974. I was manufacturing electric motors and also repairing them. My shop is about 1 km away from Amar Colony Police Chowki. I was knowing the policeman who had come there by face. I had seen that policeman there many times before I had filed my affidavit and even thereafter. I had not made any attempt to find out the name of those policeman. The police had told everyone to go inside their houses. The strength of the mob was 400 to 500 persons. I had not seen anybody being injured in the brick batting. The crowd was not allowed to enter inside our mohalla by us and therefore there was no incident of fire in the mohalla. No other act of violence had also taken place. During the investigation of FIR No.690/84 which was in respect of my shop, my statement was recorded. Read over and found correct (Bachittar Singh)
