I have filed an affidavit before this Commission on 10.12.2001. I further say that the full name of Shri Tokas as mentioned in paragraph 6 is Shri Mahinder Singh Tokas. He was a leader of Congress - I. I know him as Congress leader as he was organizing rallies and processions on behalf of Congress in our area.

No meeting could be held as the crowd started attacking before we could discuss what steps should be taken. I do not know if the police had on their own registered an offence as FIR No.320/80 on 1/11/84 in respect of the incident referred to in my affidavit. The police had reached the place of incident after about 40 minutes. I do not know what action was taken by the police after an FIR was lodged by Shri Laab Singh. When the police had come after 40 minutes, at that time also the attack was going on and it had continued for some time thereafter. When the police came, there were about 300 to 400 persons of the mob. They were spread over in the whole campus of the school. Six policemen had come, 5 of them were armed with sticks. Even after the police had come the mob had set the house of driver on fire. Mr. G.S. Rathore’s residence is about 50 meters away from the quarter of driver. Mr. Rathore was in the house when this incident had happened and he had received injuries as a result of pelting of stones towards his house. At about 3.30 P.M. we were also rescued and at that time the mob was still there. We were rescued by Ms. Nandita Haksar and not by the police. Ms. Nandita Haksar at that time was residing in Munirka Enclave. Munirka Enclave is 1000 meter away from the school. I do not know who had informed her. The mob had looted the house of Shri Grewal after the police had come. Mr. Grewal’s house was adjacent to the house of Mr. Rathore. When we told the police to rescue us, the police had told us that you better go inside your houses. Even after police had come pelting of stones at our house had continued. The mob was still there when Ms. Nandita Haksar had come alongwith some college students. Even at that time the mob was pelting stones and giving abuses. The college students who had come with Nandita Haksar were trying to persuade the mob not to attack us. They had rescued us in small lots of 2 to 4 persons. The crowd had not chased us while we were being rescued by Nandita Haksar.
