I had filed one affidavit before this Commission. It is shown to me. It bears my signature. I had also filed one affidavit before Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission of Inquiry. A photocopy of which has been shown to me. It is the correct copy of the affidavit which I had filed before that Commission. It also bears my signature. The affidavits are taken on record and marked as Exhibit No.48/1 and 48/2. In addition to what I have stated in my affidavit I say that including my husband 6 Sikhs were killed in our street. The mob which had attacked our house consisted of about 200 to 250 persons. At the time of the incident I had one daughter aged about 6 years and a boy aged about 3 years. The mob had snatched my daughter from me and wanted to throw in a burning Gurudwara but my neighbour saved her after telling the crowd that she was their daughter. The complaint which I had given was taken down by the college boy who used to visit the camp for help. Those college boys mainly taken down the complaint for the purpose of mentioning of loss and claiming compensation. They were about 2000 to 2500 persons in the camp. I had also received compensation of Rs.2,000/- for the injuries received by me.

Cross examination by Shri S.S.Gandhi, Sr. Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police.

Whatever I had stated before the Commission was narrated to a person who had prepared the affidavit for me. I do not recollect whether the contents in the affidavit were read over to me before I had signed it. It is not true that I had not mentioned about my daughter’s incident to the person who had prepared my affidavit in 1985 which was filed before Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission of Inquiry. It is not true that the said incident is also not referred in my affidavit filed before this Commission. Police had not recorded my statement at any stage. I had given evidence in the court in respect of the incident of killing of my husband.

No Cross examination by Shri K.K.Sud, ASG on behalf of Central Government :
